COMPANY HISTORY

THREE GENERATIONS OF SERVICE...

It was May 1, 1925 when Victor Erday, Sr. opened his custom tailoring shop at 8 N. Third Street. Over 80 years ago and three expansions later, his grandsons Victor III, Jim, and Bob now run the family business.

Erday's is now using 10 N. Third Street which encompasses 5,600 square feet and still offers full tailoring services. The building at 10 N. Third Street was built in 1930 and Victor, his wife Helen and four children Victor Jr., John, Helen, and Irene, lived above the store.

In 1955, Victor Jr. assumed leadership of the business. At one point all of Victor Jr's six children worked at the store. In 1961, the store doubled in size and expanded north. The major expansion out to state street was in 1973. The most recent remodeling was done in 2006.

"People like the fact that we are family owned and we provide personal service. Larger stores can be impersonal, more do-it yourself. We haven't forgotten service. Some of our customers are fourth generation shoppers," said Victor Erday, III.
